Prague's largest art museum whose purpose is to acquire, collect, preserve and present the works of art and sculpture and make sure they are protected, documented and catalogued.

GALERIE HLAVNÍHO MĚSTA PRAHY
- Založeno roku 1963 za účelem sbírání, konservování, studování a vystavovaní českého umění 19. a 20. století. Ve stejný čas také odpovědné za restaurování a obnovu pomníků, soch, památných tabulí a fontán ve veřejných prostorách v Praze. V pondělí jsou všechny výstavy zavřeny.

- Exhibition: Frantisek Bilek's drawings from 1892 - 1900. The permanent exhibition of this leading Art Nouveau artist was extended this year and now includes Bilek's early drawings. In the drawings from 1892 - 1900 Bilek looked for an adequate sculptural expression for his meditations on Jesus Christ. He produced a large number of studies and preparatory sketches which resulted in his sculpture entitled Crucified (1899) placed in St. Vitus Cathedral at the Prague Castle.
